UPDATED: January 22 to include the purchases at the end of the week.
Here is the latest shopping post for 2019. This week we went to 2 stores on Sunday, since our daughter could stay home with her younger brothers. She doesn't go back to college until next Sunday, weather pending.
This month I am working on replenishing my stockpile of toothpaste. I'll slowly build that back up by shopping the sales. I am planning on making another run to the grocery store at the end of the week for birthday dinner related purchases. I am making Pollo Guisado and Tostones.

Sunday, January 6
I spent $42.77 at ShopRite
I saved almost 62% off the regular prices this week. My savings total at the bottom of the receipt was $65.83. While I didn't get anything for free, I did save big on the following items:

I spent $55.17 at Aldi
I saved approximately $30.91 compared to the prices at ShopRite this week. I did facture in the sale prices and at our local ShopRite to come up with that figure. I saved $6.00 by purchasing meat that was close to the sell by date. Look for the red stickers!

I spent $16.46 at CVS and earned $9.00 Extra Care Bucks®
Thursday, January 17
We went through bread like water this week. I went back to ShopRite to pick up some more loaves and took advantage of a few free items. With a sick kid at home, plain toast was his best friend.
I spent $9.12 at ShopRite (inlcuding tax)
I paid $5.97 for the bread and $3.15 for the toothpaste. The popcorn and pens were free. The pens were on sale for $0.99 and I used the $1.00 digital coupon to bring the price to zero. I used a $0.75 off 1 coupon printed from Smart Source. The popcorn was on sale for $1.49 and my coupon doubled bringing the total to zero!
Friday, January 18
I spent $6.27 at Aldi
Yikes, I went out again, but this time it was a planned trip to Aldi in search of green plantains for a birthday dinner for Saturday. I did pick up a few extra things because of the winter storm that was heading our way. I made the decision to bring our daughter back to college on Monday because Sunday looked to be a mess.
Saturday, January 19
I spent $28.59 at ShopRite
This trip concludes a week of grocery shopping. However this trip was planned. I picked up the following:
- Birthday Cake - $14.99
- Ice Cream - 2 @ $3.00 each
- White Rice - $3.69
- Flour - $1.79
- Green Pepper $0.95
- Plantains - $1.17
I spent $6.96 at Target
After running out of bread, or sick child was craving crackers. He doesn't eat the birthday cake planned for Saturday night so I went to Target to get graham crackers, animal crackers, and round crackers.TOTALS THIS WEEK:
